Lost (and Found) in Costa Rica

It's been 6 days since the wheels of my A320 Airbus touched back down in FL, delivering me from one of Central America’s greatest escapes - Costa Rica - and I've yet to spend a night not wishing I was still there.

Heading to Costa Rica in August presented a mixed bag of expectations as it's right in the middle of the rainy season but also known for having better weather than the months directly before and after. Turns out we had grey skies 90% of the trip - and it was perfect. While the sun did come out on our last full day there, not having it out for the majority of the trip allowed us to stay cool and comfortable as the rain showers came and went without interfering with our day plans and we were spared the exhausting UV (Costa Rica is roughly 10 degrees north of the equator) that works against you on all-day hikes.

One of the many hot springs we enjoyed during our stay - just down the road from our Airbnb.

We stayed on the outskirts of La Fortuna - away from the busier/touristy side where we found ourselves surrounded by the dense jungle.
